Loretta Sanchez "fully supports Apple's decision to fight the court order through the judicial process. Believes Congress should set policy" More: http://bit.ly/1LXiKLN
"I fully support Apple's decision to fight the court order through the judicial process AND I believe Congress must address the broader policy issues raised by this case. This is not the first time law enforcement has asked Apple to assist in accessing iPhones. In fact, it is a fairly routine scenario. Apple cooperates in most cases where there is a warrant and access is technically feasible using existing tools. However the iOS8 and later operating systems have additional security features for which Apple has not created exceptional access systems (i.e., a backdoor). Ordering Apple to create a backdoor raises complex policy issues that Congress must investigate carefully and thoroughly and which courts are not ideally suited to address, because they focus only and strictly on the facts of the one case before them."
